At the end of the half, the Boys held a slim lead.

Marshall Ranch @ Desert Palms

Last night, the Marshall Ranch Roadrunners visited Desert Palms for the annual rivalry game on Eighth Grade Appreciation Night. The event featured a half-time performance by the Saguaro Skippers Jump Rope Club as well as certificates for all players, flowers for mothers, and a bag of chocolate for fathers after the contest. The game started off with both clubs exchanging baskets until the Roadrunners took a slim lead near the end of the 1st quarter. With seconds left in the first frame, Laura jumped a pass and dropped in a basket at the buzzer---the Lady Firebirds never looked back after that score.

Leading all scorers from both teams was Nicole with 8 points. Her aggressive steals, lay-ups, and fast-breaks stumped the Roadrunners, freezing their offense. Darielle and Tatiana showed tough defense, stripping the ball from Marshall Ranch point guards. Justine and Cierra controlled the pace with aggressive play, holding the Roadrunners to only 6 points in the second half.

With the final seconds ticking off the clock, the Lady Firebirds stormed the court and celebrated their hard earned win against Marshall Ranch. The Lady Firebirds moved to 5 wins and no losses on the season.
