The Desert Palms Lady Firebirds traveled to Pioneer to play the Patriots for the back-end of their home and home preseason scrimmage series. Desert Palms started out shooting cold edging a 2 to 0 lead at the end of the first quarter. The Lady Firebirds pressed the Patriots in the second quarter grabbing several key steals to make the score 8 to 6 at the end of the half.
The Lady Firebirds were led in scoring by Tiphani with 8 points. Nicole finished with 6 points, Abby added 4 points and Darielle scored a basket to go along with her hustle on defense. The Lady Firebirds stopped Pioneer's comeback when Nicole scored several lay-ups in the final minute.
Final Score: Desert Palms 25 Pioneer 14
Next Up: The preseason concludes at Ira Murphy on Friday, February 20. his is a CLOSED scrimmage, sorry no parents or students. Game time is 4:30 PM.
